It's simple math. First trade it's a 1:1 so if you win you get 1R, if you lose you get -1R. The recovery trade it's a 0.5:1, so in order to recover the first trade (-1R) you have to make 2R. To make 2R in a 0.5:1 trade, you must risk 4R. So, if you lose the second trade you are at -4R. Add this to your first losing trade so your daily loss is -5R. You can trade 3 days a week, so a maximum potential weekly win is 3R. In 2 weeks 6R. But if you lose a single day in these 2 weeks you are BE (+5R-5R).
But on the long run, all 2023 I ended up with a +80R, with the best month Aug +14R and the worst Jul +2R, but I didn't take the spreads into consideration and I removed the losing trades that could be avoided (an obvious external or internal liquidity sitting just in the risky reversal zone).
I can provide you with the 2023 data to confront with your backtesting.

Can you backtest January 2024 (loss -12%)? Very bad month for EURCHF strategy.

 

I ended up with a +3R, with consecutive 2 losing days but as I said, I don't use the recovery trade if on the left I see a potential trend reversal.

 

How will we manage the funded challenge of this group buy?
